Tradition Japanese Incense

Kodo is definable as a life-style and spiritual practice which involves "listening to incense". To practise this demanding and exceptional discipline correctly, it is advisable to seek the guidance of a teacher and to attend a school of Kodo. A pity for the western amateur who is thereby deprived of the aesthetic and spiritual sensations and benefits obtained by this practice. However, there is nothing to prevent us from being aware of this inner dimension of the poetry of incense, and from getting a taste of it by adapting it to our inspiration.
